I've decided to become a Papparazzi after looking out my kitchen window and seeing Blythe Danner on the rooftop garden next door visiting her daughter Gwyneth Paltrow. To spice up Art Dirt Redux maybe I should use National Enquirer type headlines; EXCLUSIVE PIX - Jennifer & Kevin McCoy's baby daughter. John Klima Rob Muphy & Doron Golan caught on the street. Lee Wells of Perpetual Art Machine talks with ADR about his military service. Naked hairless black man (Duron Jackson) does performance art in swank Chelsea art gallery. Flash Light http://www.Flash-Light.net light up the world with anti-war digital art peace signs. Tim Whidden of MTAA sighted in gallery talking to Lee Wells. Simon Watson seen skulking around during smash success of Scarecrow show at Postmasters gallery. Largest VHS cassette (over 6 feet tall) to set new record in Guinness Book. Show is curated by David Hunt and is ready to catapult all the new young Hot, Hot, Hot artists to stardom. Look out for these names:
Sarah Bednarek, Jane Benson, Jesse Bercowetz & Matt Bua, Jan Bunnig, David Kennedy Cutler, Dana Frankfort, Daniel Gordon, David Herbert, Duron Jackson, Rashid Johnson, Chris Larson. Magda Sawon the directrix of Postmasters was looking particularly pleased at the massive crowd that spilled out onto the Chelsea sidewalk. Her husband Tamas also quite dapper as he conversed with various wealthy collectors and curators.

At the Ear Inn with Perpetual Art Machine crew, Chris Borkowski, Raphaele Shirley and Lee Wells as well as Rich Cherry the Guggenheim's IT chief. The setting is interesting. The Ear Inn was changed from a seedy pub to a Fluxus poetry hang-out by Geoff Hendricks in the 1970's. PAM is a two part system for showing videos in a collective/collected way. The physical interfact is a Max/MSP Jitter system loaded onto a mac quad G5. It has a touch screen and a data-projector. The web site is a social network/CMS site for video art using Joomla. PAM The PAM site is worth checking out. It's the beginning of a shift for video art and curatorial practice.

Seems like the new media scene in London is jumping. I talk with Marc Garrett about RL community and node London. Marc of course is part of the Brit new media scene and an Ur net artist. having started back in 1996. The interview was so far ranging that it took 55 minutes. I had to split it into 2 parts. Here's the links to Garrett's new media vitual empire;-)

The New York Studio Program is run by John Tomlinson an artist who I met through the digit festival. It offers students from a variety of art schools a semester study in New York. I like going to these open studios to chat with the youngsters. They're all bright and have lots of promise. Jerry Salz the Village Voice critic was at the opening which I'm sure was a thrill for all the students. Here's a list of the names: Laura Bond, Jonathan Jones, Wesley Friedrich, Anni Irish, Steven Kemple, Sean Logue, Jeremy McConnel, Leah Newman, Desiree Salerno, Heather Sanders, Angela Silver, Delbert Sisk, Autumn, Swisher, Chat, Travieso, Stewart Uoo, David Williams.
