Jordon Crandall at Printed Matter


ADR goes to a book launch for Jordan Crandall at Printed Matter. Old guard New Media artists such as Mark Tribe who started Rhizome and Joy Garnett of Newsgrist, Frau Ding and Robbin Murphy of the thing talk about the wooly early days of net.art. PS The Art Blog panel is on May 17th.

Rob likes Robert Gober's work. Damien Hierst contracts out his paintings. Lennon-Weinberg opens a new Chelsea space. Lucas Samaras does beginners computer movies (duh). Rob & I have a brief Eighties nostalgia moment (very brief) at the Empire Diner.

Kevin Clarke & Mikey Flowers / Dust to DNA

dorkbots at Location 1

Location 1 (20 Greene Street) in SOHO is the scene for Wednesday evening get togethers where artists with various digital enhancements present their works or discuss ongoing projects.
This past Wednesday was dorkbots.
Daniel Greenfield who was first up presented miniatures which he attempted to explode. He was foiled However because of a weak cellphone signal!

Mike Rosental presented his sound art
and delighted quite a few ears in the process.

Tom Bogaert who is from Belgium presented some interesting toy hacks as well as a vending machine that dispenses art.

Drinkin' & Drawin' Championship


Art Dirt redux goes to Greenpoint Brooklyn for the 2nd annual Drinkin' & Drawin' Championship organized by MTAA at Bar Matchless (corner of Driggs & Manhattan Ave.). Put on by M.River and T.Whid
This competition has a sort of Fluxus spirit of fun.
